It has been said that what we focus on becomes stronger. Solution focused brief therapy, a form of positive psychology, is based on the theory that focusing on what we want, rather than on what we don't want, can help change old patterns and free up energy for greater participation in life. SFBT has the effect of reversing a negative frame of reference and replacing it with one of joy and vitality.
Solution focused therapy is particularly effective for relationship issues, stress management, ADD, for those in transition, and for anyone seeking a fresh perspective. It can be done individually, as a couple, or in a family group.
Typically I see people for 3-5 sessions of SFBT, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
